Slotted (Universal) Kit:
These universal brackets make it possible to bolt onto many 4 bolt pattern sizes and even choose from two different ride heights for the front of the ATV. The one special thing to note is that for this univeral kit to work, the front hubs need to be a flat style except for the 50mm (2 inch) center hub cap. If you have questions about fitment on your model, please send us a picture of the front hub, and we will gladly give you some advice.
Please note, the kits above are better than this universal kit if you have one of those specific bolt patterns (4x156mm or 4x144mm).
Information about the product:
This kit was very popular last season, and we're all set to send them out for another season in the snow!!!
We'd like to introduce you to a product we call ATSki... Why park that sport quad when the snow gets a little too deep?
Ride the ditches and canals and have some fun!!!
The Ski Conversion Kit includes a bracket assembly for each front hub that will allow you to mount Ski-Doo Precision Skis on your ATV. The kit does not include the skis, front loops or carbide runners, which are all required to complete the conversion.
We've been doing a lot of development and testing on this kit, and it is a blast in the snow! This kit allows you to purchase Ski-Doo Precision Skis (new or used ones found on ebay) and bolt them directly to your ATV.
As a lower cost option, you can weld these steel brackets to any pair of steel skis (with the ski's springs removed). We picked the Ski-Doo skis because of the dual carbide runners on each ski that help in turning.
Ski-Doo Precision skis can easily be found on ebay anytime. What you need to complete the kit is a pair of Precision plastic skis, a pair of ski loops for the front of the skis and the four carbine runners for the bottom of the skis. We do not sell the skis, loops and carbides - only the mounting brackets.
Here is a link that will find you most of those items on ebay:

Here's some help with prices directly from a Ski-Doo dealership so you can judge a good deal on ebay for the Ski-Doo pieces you will need:
2 Red Precision Skis @ $64.97 each
2 Black Ski Loops @ $13.47 each
1 Set of four Ski Carbides @ 69.95
The condition of the carbides is not so important, there has even been an ebayer that makes them from stainless steel as a less expensive alternative.
We have tested many brands and types of skis and have found the dual carbide Ski-Doo precision skis to be by far the best for handling on an ATV. With the dual carbides instead of singles like traditional skis, the ATV will turn very well and handles in most conditions where other skis are lacking (especially on ice).
However, if you want ski's for your ATV on a budget, here's our recommendation: Weld these same brackets to an old pair of steel skis off that snowmobile in the trees or you can find them for a dime a dozen on ebay and you'll be all set. You can remove the leaf springs from the steel skis since your ATV has the suspension system and these
brackets could be welded directly to the top of the steel skis.
- This kit requires no cutting or welding if used with Ski-Doo precision skis, and can be installed easily in an hour or two for a typical home mechanic. The skis just bolt to the bottom of the brackets using the hardware from the carbides that stick up through the skis (the same as on the snowmobile mounts). The brackets bolt directly to the ATV hubs, using the stock lug nuts (flip the lug nuts around so they have a flat surface against the brackets instead of the tapered surface used to center the wheels). No parts other than the tires and wheels need to be removed from the ATV.
- The kit works especially well with the widening kits that we offer in our other auctions.
It is fun to play around in the snow with a sport quad with tires, but most of the drag that slows you down is caused by the front wheels pushing through the snow. With skis you go over the snow with the front and your ability to go through deeper snow is greatly improved. We've ridden our test machines side by side with snowmobiles in the ditches and over the snow drifts, and have had a great time doing it.
You can run in the snow with your stock tires, but we have found that MUD SHARK tires are the best for being able to get incredible traction in almost all conditions. They are highly recommended if you are looking for a special snow tire. Another option is from www.etvdesign.com. They have a paddle tire for the rear that really gets you through the deep snow! These can also be combined with track systems on the rear. Look for us to offer tracks in the future!
To limit the rotation of the skis, we have several solutions that have been used.
Some of our customers just grab the front brake whenever they hit a jump, but don't forget or you could have a problem. We don't recommend this solution.
You can run a bungee cord from each ski loop to the front bumper, this is the simplest solution that is also the most effective.
We have also had good luck with putting a bolt or plastic tie strap in the holes of the brake discs that limits the downward travel of the ski tips. This can be done to limit the travel in each direction. A plastic bolt or tie strap will make sure you don't damage the brake disc.
- Steel brackets are CNC cut with a LASER for accuracy.
- Parts will come with industrial gloss black powder coating for corrosion resistance.
- All the mounting hardware shown is included (skis, loops and carbides not included).

The goal of Diamond J Customs is to develop and offer products that add performance to the ATV without the enormous price tag found on other ATV aftermarket products. We do this by designing kits that will allow use of as many stock components as possible, and allow you to mount higher performing parts from other ATV’s on your model. These parts are often available at reasonable prices on eBay, saving you money. We've sold literally hundreds of these kits to other “Quad Fanatics” and from the feedback from customers on eBay you can see that they have been more than satisfied with the products. We work hard to design products that maximize the performance of your ATV while keeping prices as low as possible. Safety is not something that will be compromised.
